XCharge North America has entered into an exclusive electric vehicle charging partnership with Roady’s Truck Stops, the leading chain of independent truck stops in the U.S. As part of a vendor purchasing program, XCharge NA, the North American subsidiary of XCharge Ltd., will serve as the sole provider of EV charging equipment and solutions to Roady’s members, who own and operate the more than 500 franchisee locations nationwide.
Founded in 2007 by Scott Moscrip and Kelly Rhinehart, Roady’s Truck Stops is the leading chain of independent truck stops in the US. Over 10,000,000 truckers and travelers visit a Roady’s each year and purchase over a billion gallons of fuel across more than 500 retail locations in 42 states.
Despite policy uncertainty, XCharge NA cites Rho Motion research house data that EV sales saw 28% growth in the U.S. during the first two months 2025 and pose a significant business opportunity for small businesses like Roady’s franchisees to build more stability and resiliency with fast chargers, countering fluctuating gas prices and operational costs.
Recognizing the growing importance of EV charging to long-term competitiveness, Roady’s partnered with XCharge NA to deliver adaptable charging solutions tailored to the needs of its members, ranging from single-location operators to large multi-site businesses. With Roady’s franchise model centered on member autonomy, XCharge NA’s flexible operating models offer the versatility needed to support a range of business strategies and site configurations.
“Many of our members are small business owners, and we are committed to empowering them to operate their business in whatever way fits their individual needs,” said John Fechik, a consultant to Roady’s & PTP Truck Stops. “XCharge NA’s innovative and user-friendly chargers will help our members attract new customers to their locations and drive revenue amid economic volatility.”
These options include a purchase and operate model as well as a turnkey development solution. For the former, business owners can purchase charging hardware directly from XCharge NA and can tailor the solution based on the site’s needs and receive 100% of the revenue from charging. Turnkey charging is a full-service, end-to-end solution encompassing fast-charging equipment, installation, software, monitoring, and maintenance, eliminating the need for members to coordinate multiple vendors or manage individual project components, saving time and resources while accelerating project deployment.

“As demand for EVs continues to increase, there is an opportunity to develop EV infrastructure that both improves the North American electric grid and supports the small and independent businesses vital to our economy,” said Aatish Patel, XCharge NA Co-founder and President. “Strategic partnerships like this allow us to further develop a system that supports EV drivers and their charging needs while strengthening a grid that is experiencing increased demand and the wear-and-tear of frequent climate disasters.”
In addition to the variety in ownership models, the sleek design, reliability, and seamless user experience of XCharge NA chargers were said to also influence Roady’s decision to partner with the company. Its members will have access to a myriad of products, including the newly launched Virtual Point of Sale integrated payment system in collaboration with Stripe, Inc., and the GridLink charger designed to improve the resilience of the North American grid.
A charging station that XCharge NA launched in October, GridLink is said to represent a significant progression in EV infrastructure, combining rapid charging capabilities with grid support functions.
The new charging station can deliver up to 300 kW, allowing EVs to charge in about 15 min. It features an in-house-developed energy storage system that uses LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries that prioritize safety, reliability, and longevity. The system offers a base capacity of 215 kW·h, which can be expanded to 430 kW·h.
Like the company’s other offerings, the new charging station is designed to be installed with minimal electrical upgrades. It is compatible with both 208- and 480-V electrical systems, providing flexibility for a variety of installation scenarios and adaptability to help reduce costs and simplify the deployment process for operators.
