Mobilisights, the Stellantis data-as-a-service (DaaS) business, is empowering fleet managers with a three-month no-fee trial of its Fleet Plus Data Pack. With it, Stellantis fleet customers who purchase MY24 or MY25 vehicles through the Stellantis fleet channel can access data that provide insights on fuel and EV charging efficiency, enable preventative maintenance, and assist with route optimization while increasing a fleet owner’s return on investment in the process.
The automobile industry is facing increasing demands to accelerate the path toward net zero while providing increasingly competitive services and turning a profit. Stellantis created Mobilisights as its source for embedded telematics data from its connected vehicles to leverage data insights with the mission to enable a smarter, safer, more sustainable, and more efficient world.
Its customer fleet managers can harness insights from the native data of millions of vehicles without the need for aftermarket devices. They get end-to-end data stream protection, as data privacy and security are top priorities for Mobilisights.
“Data is the new fuel,” said Eddie Nath, VP & Head of Sales for NA at Mobilisights. “We want to show the industry how actionable data insights can build more effective and efficient businesses.”
With Mobilisights Data Packs, refueling and EV charging become more efficient as fleet managers monitor fuel costs, charging status, vehicle range, and charge reimbursement. Vehicle health monitoring allows fleet managers to identify issues and schedule preventative maintenance, reducing unplanned downtime. Route optimization further decreases idle time and increases fleet availability. Fleet managers can coach driver behavior to increase safety and enhance the fleet’s reputation.
The three-month no-fee trial for Mobilisights Fleet Plus Data Pack is available for new customers with government, commercial, and rental fleets. Customers can choose whether they integrate directly with the Mobilisights platform or receive the data through a telematics service provider.
The trial is compatible with the growing number of fleet-management platform providers like CerebrumX, Free2move, Geotab, Guidepoint Systems, Motorq, and Samsara.
In June, Stellantis announced an expansion of its DaaS business, with its Mobilisights data unit making this possible by leveraging data from the native telematics box module embedded in the OEM’s vehicles.
Mobilisights is advancing the Stellantis electrification offensive with EV-specific route optimization, which includes insights on charge level, remaining range, and route planning software that takes into account the location and charging power of nearby charging stations. Home charging allows the control of the charge of a connected vehicle and measures in kW·h. EV battery usage and the state of the charge can be seen in near real-time.
In June, Stellantis announced a software strategic plan with the release of multiple products addressing B2C and B2B customers, which includes Mobilisights expanding its customer base, and using vehicle data to enhance products and planning while prioritizing privacy.
Stellantis expects global software revenues to grow 2.5 times in three years, with its monetizable connected car parc growing to 13.8 million vehicles. The OEM delivered more than 94 million over-the-air updates in 2023, enhancing the mobility experience of current owners. Users of subscription-based products topped 5 million in 2023.
The OEM’s next-generation technology platforms—STLA Brain, STLA SmartCockpit, and STLA AutoDrive—are expected for technology integration by the end of 2024. It is transforming its automotive software with cloud-based design and testing tools, including its Virtual Engineering Workbench to accelerate development and enhance quality. A global network of technology development hubs enables 24/7 work cycles and customizing of software products for each of the company’s vehicle platforms.
A critical step in the electrification strategy outlined in the company’s Dare Forward 2030 plan is the new Ram ProMaster electric van announced in January. It is Ram’s first battery-electric vehicle (BEV) for the U.S. market.
The delivery model was available first, followed by the non-delivery/cargo model. New for 2025 are 3500 Cargo Van high-roof models.
The BEV is built on an architecture designed specifically for electrification, featuring a unibody design incorporating the battery pack. The delivery model offers a 159.0-in (4038-mm) wheelbase and an extended high-roof model.
The cargo and delivery vans feature up to 3020 and 2780 lb (1370 and 1260 kg) payloads, respectively. Their electric drive module delivers 200 kW and 302 lb·ft (409 N·m) and standard front-wheel-drive capability.
Its standard 110-kW·h battery pack has a targeted range of up to 174 mi (280 km) in city driving. It is capable of Level 3 DC fast charging at 50 to 150 kW and a Level 2 wall box charger with up to 11 kW is available.
