Indy Autonomous Challenge holds ‘world’s first’ multi-car autonomous race

This event held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway during CES 2025 marked a milestone in physical AI and autonomous racing, with four AV-24 racecars piloted by AI drivers from university teams competing in a race, with Unimore Racing crossing the finish line just ahead of Cavalier Autonomous Racing.

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed last weekend, the new AV-24 racecar piloted by an artificial intelligence driver developed by the PoliMOVE-MSU team reached a top speed of 111.2 mph and finished in 66.37 s, breaking the previous autonomous record held by Roborace since 2019.
