The Lightyear One’s roof and hood are covered in 5 m² of integrated solar cells in safety glass, achieving up to 70 km of range per day and up to 20,000 km per year on the power of the sun.

Lightyear leads solar-car charge with the One

Due in late 2021 in some European markets, the team led by alumni from Solar Team Eindhoven’s is applying its Bridgestone World Solar Challenge winning experience in ultra-efficient design and engineering to create a car that can be mostly powered by the sun.
